Hey guys!
So recently I was tasked with the important job of making Nanaimo Bars.
They were delicious.
I did not take enough photos to make a how-to because it is a long recipe and my first time making anything that has layers. They were totally worth all the layers and ingredients, however, so please click the link and give them a try yourself. Or if you would like me to make a more detailed post tell me and I will work on that.
Now on to photos!
First you make the cream for the filling layer. This is pretty easy, as long as you are quick. I recommend measuring out your ingredients first.
Next you make the crust layer and press that into the bottom of a 9x9 pan. I put foil in the bottom of my pan to make the whole thing easy to take out and cut without breaking it.
Next you whip up your cream cheese and butter, then beat in the cream from earlier. You can, in fact, use frozen cream cheese for this. Just make sure it’s completely thawed before using it!
Once the crust has been cooled and hardened in the fridge you can add your filling layer and put the whole thing back in the fridge.
Finally, when that has cooled and hardened, add your melted chocolate and butter and let it cool.
And you are done! As I mentioned before these are really delicious, and they are healthy too! So no judgement. I really recommend giving these a try; if you do please tell me how you liked them! See you next week!
